ASCIIMOVs Call of the Void

Incoming transmission from the Void: the physical edition of the “Call of the Void” soundtrack drops on September 10th!! This marks the third full-length sonic incursion from Asciimov, the dystopian vessel of NHT (As Light DiesDeemteeGarth Arum…), where dark ambient rituals, industrial drones and sonic anomalies collide in pure Quake-infused ritualism…

Crafted as a haunting counterpart to the mod’s brutal universe, the album is a corrupted relic from the Slipgate multiverse… and it comes wrapped in an exclusive custom artwork designed by one the mod developers, Drugod, who has channeled the spirit of Quake into a stunning visual delirium… expect biomechanical decay, ancient symbols, glitched runes and nods to both Quake I and Quake II lore, a collector’s dream that expands the mythos behind “Call of the Void” and the entities that dwell within it.

The violent mod for Quake II Remastered launches on PC via Steam in just a few days, brought to life by members of the BlooM Team and Rest in Pixels… and this physical edition of the soundtrack is the perfect way to extend the experience beyond the screen, a full immersion into the frequencies that shape the Void itself, dissonant, decayed and otherworldly, designed to echo long after the last Strogg falls and the last slipgate fades.

And here’s the best part: preorders go live this August 7th exclusively through the DARKWOODS website!! Get ready, this is an ultra-limited release, forged in a really special never-before-seen format and packed like a datachip ripped from a forgotten Strogg vault. If you made it through “Call of the Machine”, you already know the kind of madness you’re stepping into… and if not, consider this your warning….

The Void opens September 10th. Preorder unlocks August 7th.

You know what to do, marine!!!

Darkwoods about Call of the Void soundtrack

There are soundtracks… and then there are sonic rituals…
For “Call of the Void”, the talented composer and multi-instrumentalist NHT (As Light Dies, Garth Arum, Deemtee…) channels his most shapeshifter persona, Asciimov, to deliver something far beyond “background music”, he’s excavated the raw frequencies buried beneath Quake I and Quake II’s fractured code… the result? A score that bleeds industrial drones, stuttering signals, tectonic low-end rumbles and moments of eerie silence, the perfect soundtrack for wandering through abandoned alien temples where time no longer applies…
Just like he did with his debut score for the mod BlooM, where he warped and fused the iconic soundtracks of Doom II and Blood, this time NHT has reimagined the sonic DNA of Quake I and Quake II, twisting and layering them into something darker, stranger and more evocative… the music mutates with the world… deepening as the void expands…
We’re proud to announce that the official soundtrack for “Call of the Void” will be released on CD by DARKWOODS in a brutal, custom-crafted edition inspired by classic Quake imagery… expect an ultra-limited pressing, premium materials and packaging that looks like a blood-soaked datachip pulled straight from a forgotten Strogg lab… follow us here and on our website, full details dropping very soon…
Still hungry for more? We’ve got you… check out this brand new preview of the wicked mod, an atmospheric dive through its corrupted worlds, showcasing environments, creatures and mood… all backed by a killer early version of one of the tracks from the original Asciimov OST. This raw, primal mix sets the tone, but the final, full-powered version is being saved for the upcoming teaser, where the Void will hit even harder. This is what corrupted Quake sounds like, where horror, awe and glitch merge into one!!

What happens when the ancient horrors of Quake I are twisted into the cold machinery of Quake II?
“Call of the Void” is an ambitious new mod for Quake II Remastered, a massive crossover between Quake I and Quake II, developed by members of the BlooM Team and Rest in Pixels as a spiritual (unofficial) expansion to “Call of the Machine”, probably the most acclaimed expansion ever made for Quake II Remastered…
The story picks up right where that journey ended, with “The Machine” cast into the abyss, until a voice echoes in the void, it’s Vadrigar, offering a deal: freedom, in exchange of cosmic vengeance…
The Strogg have committed the ultimate heresy, twisted versions of Quake I’s nightmarish creatures now march as abominations serving a new Strogg agenda. Your mission? Destroy them, tear through a collapsing dimension where the realities of Quake I and Quake II violently collide, and unleash divine retribution upon those who dared profane the old gods. Yeah, “Call of the Void” isn’t just a mod… it’s a dimensional rift!!
But what truly binds this madness together is the sound… and who better to take charge of the soundtrack than NHT / Oscar Martín Diez-Canseco (As Light Dies, Garth Arum, Deemtee…), one of the most inventive minds in underground game music, through his most radical project yet: Asciimov. The score is a brutal, discarnate descent into metallic ambience, industrial dread and shifting frequencies, carved from broken geometry and data corruption… and yes, a physical edition is already in the works to be released by DARKWOODS
“Call of the Void” launches soon (very soon) for PC… in the meantime, check out the official announcement and watch the fantastic trailer featuring several excerpts from Asciimov’s killer soundtrack!!
The Void is waiting and, this time, it sounds different…

New video from Call of the Void – Expanding the soundtrack

Here’s a new video from Call of the Void, the Drugod’s mod I’m working on that blends Quake 1 and Quake 2 into a single twisted experience. This one is more of an atmospheric tour through some of the maps, showcasing environments, creatures and mood — all accompanied by another piece of the original soundtrack I’m composing.
Just like I did with BlooM —where I fused and warped the soundtracks of Doom and Blood— here I’m reimagining the music of Quake 1 and Quake 2, twisting and layering their identities into something new: darker, stranger, and more evocative. The music grows with the world — evolving as the void deepens.
Hope you enjoy this new glimpse.
More to come soon!

Dødheimsgard Inferno and Roadburn shows

I’m not usually the type to write these kinds of posts, but I feel I must.
Because I don’t want to seem like any of this has passed me by without meaning, or that I’m ungrateful for the beautiful things that have happened to me lately. Quite the opposite: I’m overflowing with gratitude and emotion, and I need to share it.
I’m still trembling after yesterday’s concert with DHG/Dødheimsgard Official at Roadburn Festival
Three days ago we performed in Oslo at INFERNO METAL FESTIVAL NORWAY and yesterday we brought last album «Black Medium Current» to life on one of the most breathtaking stages I’ve ever set foot on. The sound, the technical crew, the setting — everything was pure magic.
I had the immense privilege of singing backing vocals alongside my beloved Demonia Cristulcia , supporting and wrapping Yusaf Parvez voice, and playing the violin.
On stage, we stood as two flanks: the Spanish choral section on the left, and our wonderful Greek brothers on synths to the right: Pavel Ahouio and Vasily. There was an unspoken understanding between us, a beautiful complicity that transcended words and made the whole performance feel deeply connected and alive.
We spent long days rehearsing in Oslo: intense, beautiful, and soul-stirring sessions, not just musically, but personally. The conversations, the laughter, the silence, the mutual respect… those are memories I’ll carry with me forever.
Black Medium Current, although some may perceive it as a more accessible or straightforward album compared to what DHG has done before, is in fact an extremely complex and dark piece of work. It’s filled with raw, experiential nostalgia — a kind that feels real, lived, and haunting. I know from many people who truly connect with it that this is not an isolated feeling. Its depth is vast, layered like an onion — each listen reveals something new, like a plunge into the unknown. If you haven’t fully connected with it yet, I’d say: give it more time. It absolutely stands alongside DHG’s other albums in excellence, and perhaps even expands the emotional spectrum in ways that only become clear over time.
Together, we made many in the audience cry — and we cried too, overwhelmed by the emotional force of performing Black Medium Current in its entirety. Learning Norwegian to be part of this made the connection even deeper.
I want to thank every single person involved, and especially tag Yusaf Parvez and Cam for giving us the chance to feel useful, to show what we can do, and to be part of something greater than ourselves — a shared purpose: to stir hearts, bring tears, and remind people how powerful music can be.
And luckily… this is not the end. We continue next week in Barroselas, Portugal With full hearts, with all our energy and voices recovered,
and eyes still shining.
You can imagine a sentimental affection for the dying creatures of your childhood stories in Deemtee's experimental black metal landscape.
